I am asked often to review easy cooking kits but it’s not something I do regularly. I write a recipe blog after all so my blog is about cooking from scratch and not simply cooking from a box.
Some of these reviews I’ve actually had to turn down because I just didn’t like what was on offer. After an absolutely delicious lunch today, I’m happy to say that wasn’t the case with Simply Cook.
Simply Cook was launched by Oli Ashness. Oli found his busy day to day lifestyle often meant is was difficult to create delicious, home-cooked food for himself and friends. I have to admit that if I didn’t write a cooking blog I wouldn’t cook from scratch as often as I do. That is especially so with Asian food where there are so many ingredients that need to be cooked in just the right way.
Simply Cook makes it easy for you to still use your favourite farm shops, butchers and fishmongers and cook at home without the hassle of sourcing, roasting and grinding your spices, producing homemade pastes and spending hours in the kitchen.
From their research, they mention on their website that most of us only have six recipes in our repertoire. I hope that those of you who read my blog have a few more than that but it is understandable.
Simply Cook aims to change that by offering you over fifty delicious recipes that you can make at home in 20 minutes or less.
If you look at their website, you’ll find all the dishes you can make at home quickly and easily. I have to say I wouldn’t hesitate to serve the recipes I’ve tried for a dinner party for friends. They are that good.
Simply Cook offers three different starter boxes. Once you’ve ordered your first box, you are free to pick and choose from their delicious range.
Another advantage of ordering from Simply Cook is that it should save you money. Each recipe pack comes with all of the spices and pastes you need. All you have to do is shop from their short shopping list which is included with each recipe. Their restaurant quality meals work out between £2 and £6 per person.
I decided to show you just how easy it is to make magnificent food at home using Simply Cook. Following are step by step photographs of me making another of Simply Cook’s recipes Balanese Chicken.
As mentioned above, you will need to do a small shop for the required ingredients but these are all readily available. I highly recommend giving simply cook a try and please let me know what you think if you do.

Disclaimer: I was paid to cook with Simply Cook ingredients and write about Simply Cook with no obligation to write a good review. I really liked the recipes I’ve tried. All opinions are my own.
